Christmas Gift Guide for HER!

It's the 8th of December… what!? It honestly feels like yesterday since I wrote my last post on the 13th of October, yet so so much has happened! You may or may not know that it was my birthday a couple of weeks ago, so lots of reviews and a haul are in order me thinks!

It is either the most look-forwarded to or the most dreaded event of the year; Christmas. I am a bit in the middle, I cannot wait for the day yet I get extremely stressed when thinking and buying presents for people. To try and help you guys out, every weekend until christmas I will post a different guide for different members of the family. Here is a christmas gift guide for the sister/daughter/cousin(etc)!

IM BACK!

whats a blog post without a picture eh?

Oh dear. I feel utterly ashamed. I haven't posted since August 13th, which is nearly two whole months ago. I must admit, I think I needed the break, as every blogger seems to need every once in a while. I have also been working 'behind the scenes' of Bow Petals, within the next year I am going to set up my own blog shop selling handmade jewellery (affordable handmade jewellery), I have created a new layout and design which should be up within the next month, and I have also been creating a blog diary so I know what to post and when. Ooo, also, by August next year, I should be starting Youtube videos. Exciting stuff! I guess I haven't been completely negligent to my blog, and I of course have been reading fellow blogs on bloglovin every night like they are the bible.
So why have I not posted? hmm, well, to be honest, I'm not too sure. I have had lots going on recently and as I am sure you are all aware, coursework and controlled assessments take up 98% of your time when you are in year 11. I come home from school, do homework for 5 hours straight, eat dinner then fall asleep. That has literally been my routine for quite some time now. I have also been spending quite a lot of time in London as well, seeing lots of west end shows. I guess I have been living a little bit more, instead of being cooped up in the house all the time.

So when am I going to post next? Hopefully, soon. It all depends on how much homework I get over the next few weeks, but I am hoping about twice a week. One will be a wish list type post, and the other any hauls or reviews. If you have any ideas for posts then please let me know!

okay, this is the bit I am most excited about, I hit 100 followers! WOOO! I have been waiting for this for a while and last night I saw I had 101! There will be a giveaway coming up shortly, so if there are any things you can recommend for the prize I would love to know! Thankyou all so so much for following this blog, whether it be on GFC or bloglovin, it means a lot! You guys make my day when I see a new follower.<3

I have recently been struggling with what I want to do as a career. Now, this has really been stressing me out. At the moment I am looking at colleges and sixth forms, but I have no idea what course I want to take. When I was little I always wanted to be a fairy hairdresser, which I think now is a little bit hard to achieve in life. Then it was a journalist, then a weather girl, then an actress. It has all been involved with media and I think it always will. My dream on becoming the next west end actress didn't dissolve, and I think my whole school is aware of it now, but recently, it's been fading. The uncertainty of acting is scaring me off, and I started to want to work in a bank. Don't get me wrong, I think working in a bank is great, and I admire all who do, but I just don't think its for me. I let my only dream in life go away. I lost hope, and I lost effort. I lost interest in my subjects at school and I felt myself slip a little as my grades dropped a bit. Even my parents saw it. The only thing that motivated me was gone. I then saw Top Hat, which may not be everyone's taste in musical, but it really was A M A Z I N G. It fully restored my faith in acting. It may not be easy, it may be uncertain, it may not be paid well, but if it is what I want to do, and I love doing it, then surely it's worth it?

I apologise for this being a bit of a long rambly post about my troubles and my highs, I hope you don't mind too much!

Dungaree Dress #2

So this is the second instalment of what I style with my very versatile dungaree dress!

This week (note that I am doing this on a saturday and not a sunday like last week haha) I have styled it with a lace collared top from Primark for £6. I don't have many collared items in my wardrobe, but this I absolutely adore! It goes with skinny jeans, under dresses, with skirts, the lot!

TOTAL OUTFIT COST: £17!

This would look lovely with a long cameo necklace and some ballet sandals!

eBay Wishlist

So these are the items I am currently lusting after from ebay! I think most people love ebay, for the amazing deals that you can get!

I'm really loving the 'nautical' theme at the moment, so that's why I have all the beachy items! Also, I really need some sort of storage for my makeup, and these are perfect - and such a good price! Lastly, the shoes. I just love them. And, I could probably walk in them as they are a wedge.

Elf Blush in Mellow Mauve

While I was a'searching the interweb for makeup goodies the other day looking for new (cheap) products to buy, I came across the e.l.f website. Now at first I thought it was a website for elfs, but as I took a closer look I saw it stood for eyes, lips, face. It's quite clever really!

I'm absolutely smitten with elf's eyelash brush as it really separates the lashes well, but while I was looking at their other products, I just had to look at their blushers. I am really loving blushers and bronzers at the moment, it has turned into a bit of an obsession, much more than eye products like a couple of months ago. I really want the NYC Bronzer and Bourjois Bronzer (you know the one which is supposed to smell like chocolate), but my local superdrug doesn't stock NYC and for some reason I just can't bring myself to buy the bourjois Bronzer- strange. However if I do purchase these, I will make sure I do a post about them!

Anyway, I chose 'Mellow Mauve' after much research of the different shade's swatches. I felt that mellow mauve is a lot more of a natural colour and I did not own a purple toned blush so this was the perfect opportunity. The packaging is extremely similar to Nars' blushes which is a massive thumbs up from me. It also has a very satisfying 'click' when you shut the lid! I think you can tell that the little things please me! The blush gives the apples of my cheeks a gorgeous tint and this has definitely become my staple blusher so far. Not only that, but a healthy sheen which is necessary if you have pale cheeks like me. It is a very subtle yet noticeable colour so it is perfect for school/every day use. Unfortunately the pictures do not do it enough justice! I really want it in 'Coral Candid', and 'Pink Passion' looks like quite an interesting colour, but there are many other shades I wish I good possess. It is just such good quality for the price!

I don't want to end this on a downer, but I thought I would make you aware that elfs makeup brushes (£1.50 ones) are not made of very good brush hair. It falls out constantly. Please don't waste your money on these. BUT I do recommend the eyelash brush as I said before- invest invest invest!

Lastly, excuse the extravagant yet weird language I am using today, I'm in one of 'those' moods. :)

Denim Dungaree Dress #1

As I said in my previous post, from today I am starting a weekly post string, where every Saturday (yeah I know it's sunday, but yesterday was very busy for me!) I will try and style/accessorise the denim Dungaree dress. This is such a versatile item which can be worn differently every time! I know when I buy new clothes, I always stress out what to style with it, so if your interested in knowing what to wear with it or your just being nosey (don't worry because I am!) then I'm sure this will interest you!

This is the first post, so if your wondering where I got the Dungaree dress from, then I got it in the sale from New Look. I talk about it a lot more here. I got it for £11 (this is the exact price, whereas in my last post I wasn't too sure!) and it was originally £22.99. However they can be purchased from a lot of different high street stores; topshop, primark, river island etc. Its just really looking around for the design you want, and I was incredibly happy with mine. I don't tend to wear dresses a lot in the day, but since the beautiful weather and the loveliness of the dress, I have worn it at least 5 or 6 times!

I styled it with a simple white rolled sleeved tee and that was it! How simple and easy was that!? I'm sure everyone possesses a white tee somewhere in their house and if not they are reasonably cheap to buy! Mine was from Asos for £6 or in Primark they are £4!

I would accessorise it with this necklace which is from Topshop for £8.50

TOTAL OUTFIT COST: £25.50
without necklace: £17

Outfit Ideas

Hey guys,

When I'm scrolling through Bloglovin, the one thing I love to read about are OOTD's and outfit ideas, for those who don't know what I mean by that, when people style different outfits for different occasions. So I though to myself, why don't I do one myself? And alarm bells went off in my tiny brain.

So here it is for you! Be sure to let me know if you like these kind of posts, and if you would wear any of these!?

The Popband Review

Hellooooo!

I think in all, I refresh bloglovin about 6-10 times a day to see what my favourite bloggers have been posting about. The other day, I came across PopBand's while I was browsing, and before really thinking about it- ordered them straight away.

So you might be thinking right now 'what in the world is a popband?' And I can tell you that it is not what it sounds like; a band who produce pop music. Na ah! A popband is a hair band which leaves your hair kink free, but is also really tight that it doesn't fall out- even with silky freshly washed hair! Its also really good for your hair as its snag free. BUT it also doubles up as a really cute bracelet at the same time, which won't fall off but not leave a massive dent in your wrist!

The packaging-PINK BUBBLE WRAP! You have no idea how happy this made me.

You can get them in all different colours and designs, individual, double or multi packs and even some with bling on! Yaaaa!

I got a multi pack of 5 PopBands named 'Pop' as I loved the colours of them. It cost me £6. As you can see from the above photo, the light pink one I have been wearing a lot, and even though it has stretched it still works the same.
I also put these bands to the test when I went dancing the other day, and they did exactly as they said on the tin (pardon the pun!) and my hair stayed in the same position for two hours straight of jumping up and down and all in all going crazy on adrenaline.

I absolutely love these hair bands- much better than the £1 primark ones (even though they are really goood and my go-to's!)

AND at the moment, PopBand are currently offering £5 off when you spend £20 by using the code SUMMERAMA13
AND they are offering FREE DELIVERY to the UK!

Could it get any better?

New Look Wish List

Hey guys,

how are you all?

Schools been rather hectic at the moment, what with English controlled assessments and mountain piles of homework (just a slight exaggeration) oh and not forgetting me spending 4 nights a week at my local theatre!

So I get back in the habit if blogging, I thought I'd start myself off with some wish lists. I mean who doesn't love a good wish list now and then?

As I shop in New look the most out of all the high street stores, I thought I would chose it first.

At the moment, I have had a bit of an obsession with 'Broderie Englaise'. I must admit it has never amazed me before, but since my vintage fling has taken place, it is one of my favourite things to wear. I just think that Broderie englaise is a flash from the past (well the 1920-1950's anyway. I honestly don't know what my fascination with that time period is, but I love it so much, the music, the fashion, the outlooks. Love it.

A while ago I sold some of my dads old stuff on eBay, and gained £80 from it, so after postage and all that jazz was taken off, me and my mum split it in half and I gained £30 or so! So of course, my natural shopping instincts kicked in and I knew I had to purchase something- so I bought the white dress and wire headband above, which go beautifully together.

What do you think of the items? Do you like them?

Feel free to leave links of your favourite items from new look at the moment!

Summer Wishlist!

hey guys!

On Sunday, I am in a show at my local theatre which I am so excited about! We are performing 'The Crucible', which is set in Massachusetts 1692. I play a bewitched girl! Wish me luck!

As we all know, Summer is approaching (rather slowly at the moment), and as soon as I see a tad bit of sunshine I just cannot wait to wear all of my dresses and skirts and search the internet for new clothes.
It seems to me that this year will have a lot of mints and corals - which is good for me because I absolutely love them! Oh and lots of pastels, but also tropical/floral prints. It also seems that the traditional Modern Vintage look is here as well! YAYAY!

These are my summer essentials of Summer 2013 - if it ever arrives!

Do you like any of these items? What are your summer essentials?

Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint in Papaya

hey guys!

HAPPY EASTER!

I recently purchased this gorgeous little thing; Barry M's new collection! When I got it, I didn't realise that it was a new thing (silly me), but it is sooooooo good.

Now, I am not the best of people when it comes to painting nails, one, because I can never apply it smoothly, and two, because I get it everywhere. However, it is amazing! It is available in 12 other colours, and all gorgeous colours by that! I also love the mint green one that they do.
As it is Gelly Hi-Shine, it leaves a gorgeous smooth and shiny effect once it has been applied and has dryed! The packaging is lovely - classy glassy (as I say!) and it is bigger to what you would think it would be! Meaning lots more applications! It leaves such a good shiny smooth surface that it could actually be mistaken for acrylic nails - until it chips anyway. But even then, it is said to be a lot more durable. A novice Nail Painters dream! AND, for £3.99 - you can't go wrong!

This is just a swatch of it (which to be honest, doesn't do it justice at all) and an identical one with just a glitter nail polish over the top as I wondered if the glitter would ruin the shinyness - but it didn't!

Oh and as I am on the subject of nails - which I don't too often, I added one coat of the Maybelline Salon Manicure Protecting Top Coat, and it made my nails SHINYER and it just adds that extra coat of durability which I feel that I need as I am so clumsy. So yeah, bigging up this little beauty!

If you like this nail post, then let me know and I will be sure to do more of them!

Marks & Spencer's Floral Vintage Bunting

hey guys,

a close up

This beauty of a bunting that ever was made cost £7.50 from Marks & Spencers Garden Section. When I saw it, it didn't matter what the price was (even though it was actually quite reasonable), I just had to get it! It's longer than I first thought as well, 7ft in total!

I am honestly so happy with it. It makes me happy just looking at it! hehe!

Have any of you guys got that Vintagey feeling at the moment? What do you'se think of it? What do you add to your rooms to give it that touch?

Dolly Bow Bow Purchase!

hey guys,

you have probably all heard of the lovely blogger and vlogger, Dolly Bow Bow aka Kate Murnane, but if you don't know who she is then check out her blog and youtube channel now! (well... after youve read my post hehe)

Kate has her own online shop which features homey items, clothing and jewellery- all of it gorgeous!

Well, when I was browsing her site, I found this little jar, and I fell in love. I didn't know it was possible to love a jar so much! I feel as if my style, both in fashion and decor is turning vintage-y. Anything like this jar or this kind of style my brain tells me to buy! Oh and I am very happy that 1940's below the knee full skirt dresses are coming back in fashion.

When I saw this jar, it reminded me of what people had on their dressing room tables on a sunny day with the sun shining in. Haha, don't ask me why I imagined it being sunny, it just was in my weird little brain of mine.

Firstly, it came in a box. Shocker I know! I haven't had a parcel come in a proper square cardboard box in all my life. This really made me happy.

I bet your all sitting in anticipation for what the jar looks like, so here it is!

In Love With Fashion

hey guys,

the other day, e-tail PR sent out an email to all bloggers, asking them of their favourite pieces from In Love With Fashion, a clothing store which has some lovely items in it!
I must admit, I had never heard of them before, but I am glad that I have found out about them now as I love love love it!

e-tail PR sent :

Here are my favourite items from the shop, just to give you a little insight of what they stock:

As I had sooo many favourites, these are just a few as they wouldn't fit on my collage! :(

I really love the simple tee's like the 'In Vogue We Trust', as it would go with so many items, has that fashion twist, and the words I just really love. I also love the blue flowery shorts, as I think that they will look great in spring, with a white cropped tee, hey, even the 'in vogue we trust' one! oo yeah, that would look really nice.
The waterfall dress made me happy. I saw it, I smiled, I imagined wearing it on a cool sunny summers day. Ahhhh.
As you can probably tell from my blog name, I love bows. Any type of bow, on any different item, and I will automatically love it. The dress with the black bows literally made me want to put my hand in my laptop screen and magically drag it out. oh. I wish.
Ahhh, sorry, one more thing and I'll shut up, I can visualise right now the mint lace skirt with the 'in vogue we trust' top. And I can tell you it looks good. That Vogue top is really becoming a staple item here! :)

You also might see a few items where they are the same, but just in different colours, this is because I couldn't decide which one I liked more! haha :)
